The writing of Vladimir Duraj, published on January 13 in the newspaper “Dita”:<\/span><\/p>\n

Tritan Kalo, the Albanian “Zhong Nanshan”, is a symbol, an emblem, a living legend in medicine.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ku\u00e7ova, my birthplace, with great values where, among other things, gratitude has always valued hardworking people, just individuals, intellectuals, oil workers, aviators, the sons and daughters who have given their lives, such as Muhamet Shehu, Myrteza Kepi, Niko Hoxha, Asbi Seriani, Stliano Tanku, Donald Hoxha, Vasil Trasha, or those distinguished in their achievements. But today, in this writing, I saw that our Ku\u00e7ova also values the great contribution of Professor Dr. Tritan Kalo, a symbol, emblem, and living legend in medicine.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Regarding his meeting with colleagues, residents, nurses, and the administrative staff of the Infectious Diseases Service of QSUNT on the day of his retirement, Prof. Dr. Tritan Kalo, among other things, wrote:<\/span><\/p>\n

“If I had been given the right opportunities, I would have liked to contribute even more to the quality of medical care for the sick, as well as to the dissemination of knowledge to colleagues, residents, and students, given the heavy burden of life and scientific experience I carry on my shoulders.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The case of Dr. Tani (Tritan Kalo) closely resembles that of the Chinese scientist Zhong Nanshan, about whom our ambassador in Beijing, Selim Belortaja, wrote on his Facebook page on 22.02.2020:<\/span><\/p>\n

“The ‘General’ leading the research operation against the epidemic in China, pulmonologist and epidemiologist Zhong Nanshan, is known as a hero of the fight against SARS in 2003, voted as one of China’s 10 greatest scientists (2010), without hesitation even to criticize when necessary. The National Health Commission found him and placed him at the head of the expert group racing against time in the fight against the COVID-19 Coronavirus. As the leader of this effort, he was also given the microphone as the spokesperson for this war! And who better than him to explain it?”<\/span><\/p>\n

Indeed, Zhong Nanshan, a scientist in China, and Tritan Kalo, a scientist in Albania\u2014Zhong was nonconformist, criticizing when necessary, and Tritan was more than nonconformist, with the Hippocratic oath as his only bible. Zhong and Tritan have many similarities, but the behavior of their respective governments towards them was not the same. Zhong was promoted to “general” with universal carte blanche, while Tritan remained a simple soldier of the “empire.” In fact, officially he remained such for the government, but de facto and in the eyes of the people, Dr. Tritan was seen as a general above generals.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are thousands of patients from every corner of Albania who felt and experienced firsthand the human and professional care of Dr. Tritan, his “signature” in helping them overcome the life-threatening virus.<\/span><\/p>\n

For this reason, Gjirokastra, Elbasan, and Ku\u00e7ova awarded Dr. Tritan the high title of “Honorary Citizen.” It was the residents of these cities who requested that the local authorities honor Dr. Tritan with this high title, as a sign of gratitude for what he did and continues to do for their lives and for all Albanians.<\/span><\/p>\n

The praises for Dr. Tritan were unanimous, from all angles and from everyone, starting from the simplest and most impoverished to well-known names for intellect and social standing. I will again quote Ambassador Belortaja, who in the same writing on 20.02.2020, wrote:<\/span><\/p>\n

“The question now is: do we have someone similar? It doesn’t matter if they\u2019re not exactly of this caliber. Do we know who the best in this field is? Let’s call them, place them at the head of a special preventive board, give them a fivefold salary, let them choose their own team of experts, let them speak and give competent instructions, executive orders for airports, terminals, planes and ferries, hospitals, concessions, including orders with strong\u2026 budgetary effects. Let’s not hesitate over age: Zhong Nanshan has long turned 83 years old.”<\/span><\/p>\n

There is no doubt that in these lines Dr. Tritan Kalo is identified as the central figure of Albanian medicine in this field, the de facto “general” of the Albanian army in the fight against the “plague” of COVID-19. Decoded, the above lines of the ambassador read: yes, we have someone similar to Zhong Nanshan; his name is Tritan Kalo. Call him, government, place him at the head of this work, give him carte blanche for everything, fivefold his salary, promote him to “general.” This is what Ambassador Selim Belortaja wrote during the “dance” of COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Tritan Kalo, one of the most distinguished doctors, noble in his entire being, erudite and passionate about science and books, careful to convey precisely the message people were waiting for, of hope; to be part of their pain, but also the courage that everything could be faced,” says Bedri Islami in support of Tritan Kalo for being awarded the title “Person of the Year.”<\/span><\/p>\n

I could bring many more appreciative opinions about Dr. Tritan, but this would not change his essence. His greatness, nobility, professional and human excellence, remarkable erudition, simplicity as the cherry on top, honesty, and manly character in Dr. Tani are axioms, and as such, are universally accepted without the need for validation. Dr. Tritan Kalo, Infectologist, Tropicologist, Reanimator, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Master of the Grand Order, has a lifelong career in medicine. He is a symbol, an emblem, a living legend in medicine. He and excellent medicine are synonymous with each other. This is why I do not describe his life as is usually done in such writings, as I assume there is no Albanian who cannot guess that Tani Kalo was born to reach the heights, raised alongside first place, with “Golden Diplomas,” with superlative recognition wherever he has worked\u2014in Albania, France, or Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n

The above is what I wrote to the prime minister on the eve of Dr. Tani’s (Tritan Kalo) retirement, and with a justified sense of outrage, I continued:<\/span><\/p>\n

“- So, you already know all of this, prime minister. You recognize his value, greatness, nonconformism, strong character, human and professional superiority, his brilliance, and in the end, you should appreciate him. You do appreciate him, prime minister; you value him as a diamond on the other side, who doesn’t lick boots, doesn’t flatter, doesn’t bow, and can’t be bought\u2014and that’s enough to abandon, ignore, and belittle him. But you are mistaken, dear sir! In the ‘battle’ with Dr. Tani, the one who loses is the opponent. If you had kept the scientist Tritan Kalo in work, the winner would have been you, the country, the people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Albania needs Tritan Kalo more than it needs a prime minister, and even more so than it needs a minister or a director. Therefore, you would do well to reconsider with common sense the ‘decision’ to retire him.<\/span><\/p>\n

An erudite and distinguished figure in Albanian medicine, with an invaluable role and contribution in facing the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, where, with professionalism, dedication, and humanity, he continues to work, saving lives, including the lives of people from Ku\u00e7ova among many others from all over Albania.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tritan Kalo is a national asset. With what he is and does in service to the people and the country, he is as much Tirana\u2019s as he is Gjirokastra\u2019s, as much Elbasan\u2019s as he is Ku\u00e7ova\u2019s, as much Shkodra\u2019s as he is Vlora\u2019s. He belongs not only to himself but to all of Albania.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is one of those rare cases where, to present someone, there is no need for a ‘biography’; simply saying his name is enough, and any Albanian knows who you’re talking about.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nevertheless, I will bring two opinions here, from Bedri Islami and Petrit Ago, both well-known and successful names:<\/span><\/p>\n

‘- Tritan Kalo, one of the most distinguished doctors, noble in his entire being, erudite and passionate about science and books, careful to convey exactly the message people were waiting for\u2014of hope; to be part of their pain, but also of the courage that everything could be overcome,’ says Bedri Islami in support of Tritan Kalo for ‘Person of the Year.’<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Petrit Ago says in one of his comments:<\/span><\/p>\n

‘Prof. Dr. Tritan Kalo, with his simplicity, professionalism, humanity, and persistence, gave me the chance to begin a second life. Eternal gratitude!’<\/span><\/p>\n

Such considerations are expressed daily, by the thousands, from across the country. But of particular ‘interest’ is the recognition from the people of Ku\u00e7ova, and that recognition is not lacking. There are numerous cases from Ku\u00e7ova where people have felt and experienced Dr. Tritan\u2019s care and professionalism, and there are even more who support honoring and valuing him!<\/span><\/p>\n

In the context of this proposal, we also sought the opinion of some of our doctors, including Teodor Kote, Elena Gjonbalaj, Mimoza Velikaj, Eni Dhame, Mimoza Caca, and Ermelinda Nito, all of whom spoke in superlatives about Dr. Tritan, the doctor who risked his life to save others\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

This is how Dr. Eni Dhame expressed herself:<\/span><\/p>\n

‘There are few words that can do justice to great people like Prof. Tritan. Always available, professional, humane, respectful\u2014it\u2019s a privilege to know him and even more so to be treated by him. Such professionals bring pride to Albanian medicine and are at the same time so very necessary for it.'”<\/span><\/p>\n

“Gjenerali” q\u00eb drejton operacionin k\u00ebrkimor ndaj epidemis\u00eb n\u00eb Kin\u00eb, Pulmonologu dhe epidemiologu\u00a0 Zhong Nanshan njihet si hero i luft\u00ebs kund\u00ebr SARS-it ne 2003, i votuar si nj\u00eb nga 10 shkenc\u00ebtar\u00ebt m\u00eb t\u00eb m\u00ebdhenj t\u00eb Kin\u00ebs (2010) pa hezituar edhe t\u00eb kritikoj\u00eb kur e desh puna. Komisioni Komb\u00ebtar i Sh\u00ebndetit e gjeti dhe e vuri n\u00eb krye t\u00eb grupit t\u00eb ekspert\u00ebve q\u00eb vrapojn\u00eb n\u00eb nj\u00eb gar\u00eb kohe kund\u00ebr Koronavirusit COVID-19. E pra, Zhong Nanshan shkenc\u00ebtar n\u00eb Kin\u00eb, Tritan Kalo shkenc\u00ebtar n\u00eb Shqip\u00ebri, Zhongu antikonformist, kritikonte kur duhej, Tritani m\u00ebse antikonformist q\u00eb bib\u00ebl ka vet\u00ebm betimin e Hipokratit. Zhongu dhe Tritani kan\u00eb shum\u00eb ngjashm\u00ebri mes tyre, po sjellja e pushteteve respektive ndaj tyre nuk ishte e nj\u00ebjt\u00eb. Zhongu u gradua “gjeneral” me kartabianke universale, Tritani mbeti nj\u00eb ushtar i thjesht\u00eb i “perandoris\u00eb”. N\u00eb fakt, i till\u00eb mbeti de jure, p\u00ebr pushtetin, sepse de fakto dhe ne syt\u00eb e popullit, Dr Tritani shihej si gjeneral e kaluar gjeneralit. Jan\u00eb me mij\u00ebra pacient\u00ebt nga \u00e7do skaj i Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb q\u00eb ndjen\u00eb dhe prek\u00ebn me dor\u00eb kujdesin njer\u00ebzor dhe profesional t\u00eb Dr Tritanit, “firm\u00ebn” e tij p\u00ebr t\u00eb dal\u00eb fitues mbi virusin jet\u00ebmarr\u00ebs.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00cbsht\u00eb p\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb arsye q\u00eb Gjirokastra, Elbasani dhe Ku\u00e7ova i akorduan Dr Tritanit titullin e lart\u00eb “Qytetar Nderi”. Ishin banor\u00eb t\u00eb k\u00ebtyre qyteteve ata q\u00eb k\u00ebrkuan nga pushteti vendor nderimin e Dr Tritanit me k\u00ebt\u00eb titull t\u00eb lart\u00eb, n\u00eb shenj\u00eb mir\u00ebnjohje p\u00ebr at\u00eb \u00e7far\u00eb ai b\u00ebri e b\u00ebnte p\u00ebr jet\u00ebn e tyre dhe t\u00eb\u00a0 t\u00eb gjith\u00eb shqiptar\u00ebve.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vler\u00ebsimet p\u00ebr Dr Tritanin ishin n\u00eb 360\u2070, p\u00ebr gjith\u00e7ka dhe nga t\u00eb gjith\u00eb, duke filluar nga m\u00eb i thjeshti e m\u00eb i vobekti e deri te firma t\u00eb njohura p\u00ebr mendje e pozit\u00eb shoq\u00ebrore. Po citoj p\u00ebs\u00ebri ambasadorin Belortaja, i cili po n\u00eb shkrimin e m\u00ebsip\u00ebrm\u00a0 t\u00eb 20.02.2020, shkruan :<\/span><\/p>\n

“Pyetja tani \u00ebsht\u00eb: e kemi ne nj\u00eb t\u00eb ngjash\u00ebm? S’ka r\u00ebnd\u00ebsi edhe n\u00eb se s’\u00ebsht\u00eb tamam ky kalib\u00ebr. A e njohim ne m\u00eb t\u00eb mirin e k\u00ebsaj fushe? Ta th\u00ebrresim, ta vem\u00eb n\u00eb krye t\u00eb nj\u00eb bordi special parandalues, t’i japim rrog\u00eb 5-fishe, ta lem\u00eb ta zgjedh\u00eb vet\u00eb skuadr\u00ebn e ekspert\u00ebve, t\u00eb flas\u00eb e jap\u00eb porosi kompetente, urdhra ekzekutiv\u00eb p\u00ebr aeroportin, terminalet, avionet e tragetet, spitalet, kon\u00e7ensionet, p\u00ebrfshi edhe urdhra me efekt t\u00eb fort\u00eb .. buxhetor. Mos hezitojm\u00eb p\u00ebr pun\u00eb moshe: Zhong Nanshan i ka mbushur me koh\u00eb 83 vje\u00e7.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Nuk ka asnj\u00eb dyshim q\u00eb n\u00eb k\u00ebto rreshta identifikohet Dr Tritan Kalo, figura qendrore e mjek\u00ebsis\u00eb shqiptare n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb zhan\u00ebr, “gjenerali” de fakto i ushtris\u00eb shqiptare n\u00eb luft\u00eb kund\u00ebr “murtaj\u00ebs” COVID-19. T\u00eb dekriptuara, rreshtat e m\u00ebsip\u00ebrme t\u00eb ambasadorit, lexohen : po, ne e kemi t\u00eb ngjashmin me Zhong Nanshan, ai quhet Tritan Kalo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thirre, qeveri, vendose n\u00eb krye t\u00eb k\u00ebsaj pune, jepi kartabiank\u00eb n\u00eb gjith\u00e7ka, 5 – fishoja rrog\u00ebn, gradoje “gjeneral”. K\u00ebto shkruante ambasadori Selim Belortaja ne koh\u00ebn e “vallzimit” t\u00eb COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Tritan Kalo, nj\u00ebri nd\u00ebr mjek\u00ebt m\u00eb t\u00eb shquar, fisnik n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb q\u00ebnien e tij, erudit dhe pasionant pas shkenc\u00ebs dhe librit, i kujdessh\u00ebm p\u00ebr t\u00eb p\u00ebrcjell\u00eb pik\u00ebrisht at\u00eb mesazh q\u00eb njer\u00ebzit prisnin, t\u00eb shpres\u00ebs; p\u00ebr t\u00eb q\u00ebn\u00eb pjes\u00eb e dhimbjes s\u00eb tyre, por edhe e guximit se gjith\u00e7ka mund t\u00eb p\u00ebrballohej” – thot\u00eb Bedri Islami n\u00eb mb\u00ebshtetje t\u00eb Tritan Kalos p\u00ebr dhenien e titullit “Njeriu i Vitit”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mund t\u00eb sillja shum\u00eb e shum\u0113 opinione vler\u00ebsuese p\u00ebr Dr Tritanin, por kjo nuk do ta ndryshonte qenien e Tij. Madh\u00ebshtia, fisnik\u00ebria, p\u00ebrsosm\u00ebria profesionale dhe humane, erudicioni i spikatur, thjesht\u00ebsia si qershia mbi tort\u00eb, ndershm\u00ebria dhe karakteri i tij burr\u00ebror te Dr Tani jan\u00eb aksiom\u00eb dhe si t\u00eb tilla gjith\u00ebpranohen pa pasur nevoj\u00eb p\u00ebr v\u00ebrtetim. Dr. Tritan Kalo, mjek Infektolog, Tropikolog, Reanimator, Doktor i Shkencave Mjeksore, Profesor i Associuar, Mjesht\u00ebr i Madh, ka nj\u00eb jet\u00eb n\u00eb mjek\u00ebsi.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ai \u00ebsht\u00eb simbol, emblem\u00eb, legjend\u00eb e gjall\u00eb n\u00eb mjek\u00ebsi, Ai dhe Mjeku ekselent n\u00ebnkuptojn\u0113 nj\u0113ri tjetrin. \u00cbsht\u00eb kjo arsyeja q\u00eb nuk po ia p\u00ebrshkruaj jet\u00ebn si\u00e7 b\u00ebhet r\u00ebndom n\u00eb shkrime t\u00eb tilla, presupozoj se nuk ka shqiptar qe nuk merr me mend se Tan Kalo \u00ebsht\u00eb lindur p\u00ebr t\u00eb kapur majat, \u00ebsht\u00eb rritur duke q\u00ebn\u00eb v\u00eblla me vendin e par\u00eb, me “Diploma Ari”, me vler\u00ebsime superlative kudo ku ka punuar, n\u00eb Shqip\u00ebri, Franc\u00eb apo Kanada.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sa m\u00eb sip\u00ebr i shkruaja kryeministrit n\u00eb prag t\u00eb pensionimit t\u00eb Dr Tanit dhe me nj\u00eb revolt\u00eb t\u00eb justifikuar, vijoja :<\/span><\/p>\n

“- E pra, sa m\u00eb sip\u00ebr i dini dhe Ju, kryeminist\u00ebr, ia njihni vlerat, madh\u00ebshtin\u00eb, antikonformizmin, karakterin e fort\u00eb, superioritetin njer\u00ebzor e profesional, gjenialitetin e tij dhe n\u00eb finale duhet ta \u00e7monit. Ju e \u00e7moni, kryeminist\u00ebr, e vler\u00ebsoni si nj\u00eb diamant t\u00eb krahut tjet\u00ebr, q\u00eb nuk l\u00ebpihet, nuk serviloset, nuk p\u00ebrkulet, nuk blihet dhe k\u00ebto jan\u00eb t\u00eb mjaftueshme p\u00ebr ta abandonuar, injoruar, nep\u00ebrk\u00ebmbur. Por gaboni, i nderuar! N\u00eb “luft\u00ebn” me Dr Tanin, i humburi \u00ebsht\u00eb kund\u00ebrshtari. Ta mbaje ende n\u00eb pun\u00eb shkenc\u00ebtarin Tritan Kalo, i fituari do t\u00eb ishit ju, vendi, populli.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shqip\u00ebria ka nevoj\u00eb p\u00ebr Tritan Kalon m\u00eb shum\u00eb se sa p\u00ebr nj\u00eb kryeminist\u00ebr e aq m\u00eb teper p\u00ebr nj\u00eb minister apo drejtor, ndaj do b\u00ebnit mir\u00eb ta shihnit me bonsens “vendimin” e pensionimit t\u00eb tij.<\/span><\/p>\n

Personalitet erudit dhe i shquar i mjeksis\u00eb mbar\u00ebshqiptare, me rol dhe kontribut t\u00eb pa\u00e7muar n\u00eb p\u00ebrballjen me pandemin\u00eb bot\u00ebrore shkaktuar nga covid – 19, ku me profesionaliz\u00ebm, p\u00ebrkushtim dhe humaniz\u00ebm vazhdon t\u00eb punoj\u00eb duke shp\u00ebtuar edhe jet\u00eb ku\u00e7ovar\u00ebsh mes shum\u00eb jet\u00ebve t\u00eb tjera nga e gjith\u00eb Shqip\u00ebria.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tritan Kalo \u00ebsht\u00eb nj\u00eb aset komb\u00ebtar, Ai, me at\u00eb \u00e7far\u00eb \u00ebsht\u00eb e b\u00ebn\u00eb n\u00eb sh\u00ebrbim t\u00eb popullit e vendit, \u00ebsht\u00eb sa tiranas, aq edhe gjirokastrit, sa Elbasanas aq edhe ku\u00e7ovar, sa shkodran aq edhe vlonjat, sa i vehtes aq edhe i Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb.<\/span><\/p>\n
