Gjetjet arkeologjike<br \/>\nd\u00ebshmojn\u00eb p\u00ebr faktet se ai ka ekzistuar nj\u00ebher\u00ebsh me qytetet e tjera m\u00eb t\u00eb lashta t\u00eb vendit ton\u00eb,gj\u00eb q\u00eb<br \/>\nd\u00ebshmon dhe p\u00ebr nj\u00eb t\u00eb folur me ndryshime n\u00eb periudha t\u00eb caktuara t\u00eb jet\u00ebs ekonomike-shoq\u00ebrore t\u00eb<br \/>\nbanor\u00ebve t\u00eb qytetit.Pozicioni gjeografik, ia jepte atij nj\u00eb mund\u00ebsi t\u00eb till\u00eb,duke qen\u00eb i vendosur p\u00ebrgjat\u00eb<br \/>\nrrug\u00ebs s\u00eb vjet\u00ebr t\u00eb Kandavis\u00eb e m\u00eb pas t\u00eb asaj t\u00eb Egnatias, i njohur me emrin Klaudiana (Klodiana). Ky<br \/>\nem\u00ebr i lasht\u00eb \u00ebsht\u00eb vendosur nga pushtuesit romak\u00eb p\u00ebr nder t\u00eb prij\u00ebsit t\u00eb tyre. Gjurmet m\u00eb t\u00eb lashta n\u00eb<br \/>\nrrethin e Peqinit i takojn\u00eb prehistoris\u00eb n\u00eb vendin e quajtur Gallov\u00eb af\u00ebr fshatit Ballagat ku \u00ebsht\u00eb gjetur nje<br \/>\ns\u00ebpat\u00eb, \u00e7ekan prej guri t\u00eb brimuar e punuar me gur\u00eb jeshil\u00eb. Kjo s\u00ebpat\u00eb \u00ebsht\u00eb e gjat\u00eb 1 cm dhe<br \/>\ntipologjikisht i takon epok\u00ebs s\u00eb bakrit dhe asaj t\u00eb bronzit t\u00eb hersh\u00ebm. N\u00eb l\u00ebvizjet historike t\u00eb vitit 1431<br \/>\nth\u00ebrritet me emrin Biklenet dhe m\u00eb pas Peklin. Nahija e Peqinit jepet me emrin \u201cNahia Markesh\u201d. Kjo na<br \/>\nshtyn ta lidhim fjal\u00ebn Peqin me periudha turke. Ndofta ajo e ka prejardhjen nga fjala turke Bekleyen (ai<br \/>\nq\u00eb pret, pik\u00eb pritje). Kjo ka b\u00ebr\u00eb q\u00eb t\u00eb kemi p\u00ebrdorim dhe t\u00eb shum\u00eb fjal\u00ebve turke Sipas ndarjeve<br \/>\nadministrative t\u00eb sistemit turk,Peqini kondiderohej M\u00ebd\u00ebrllik(Krahinari).<br \/>\nKlodiana \u00ebsht\u00eb nd\u00ebr qyetet ilire q\u00eb udh\u00ebtar\u00eb t\u00eb ndrysh\u00ebm shpeshher\u00eb e kan\u00eb identifikuar me qytetin e<br \/>\nPeqinit.Nga autor\u00ebt antik\u00eb Klodiana p\u00ebrmendet si nj\u00eb stacion i r\u00ebnd\u00ebsish\u00ebm i Via Egnatias(n\u00eb shekullin e<br \/>\nIII) n\u00eb intenerarin e Antonimeve ku bashkoheshin \u00e7 deg\u00ebzimet e saj ,nj\u00ebra nga Dyrrahu (Durr\u00ebsi) dhe<br \/>\ntjetra nga Apollonia.Kjo rrug\u00eb \u00ebsht\u00eb nd\u00ebrtuar midis viteve 146-1\u00e70 p.e.s.Rruga gjat\u00eb lugin\u00ebs s\u00eb<br \/>\nShkumbinit e merr emrin Egnatia me sa duket nga qyteti Egnatia n\u00eb Italin\u00eb Jugore, buz\u00eb Adriatikut i<br \/>\nbanuar nga fisi Ilir i Japig\u00ebve,te cil\u00ebt pat\u00ebn kap\u00ebrcyer Adriatikun,por t\u00eb tjer\u00eb mendojn\u00eb se kjo rrug\u00eb<br \/>\nmori emrin e atij q\u00eb e nd\u00ebrtoi, Konsullit Romak Gai\u00ebs Egnatius.<br \/>\nRrethi i Peqinit shtrihet n\u00eb qend\u00ebr t\u00eb Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb dhe p\u00ebrshkohet nga lumi Shkumbin, i cili e ndan at\u00eb n\u00eb<br \/>\ndy pjes\u00eb. Peqini shtrihet nd\u00ebrmjet lart\u00ebsive 17 deri n\u00eb 757 m mbi nivelin e detit.Rrethi i Peqinit shtrihet<br \/>\nmidis gjer\u00ebsis\u00eb gjeografike veriore 40 o \u00a057&amp;#39; dhe 41 o \u00a016&amp;#39; dhe gjat\u00ebsis\u00ebs gjeografike lindore 19 o \u00a040&amp;#39; dhe<br \/>\n19 o \u00a055&amp;#39; .Brenda k\u00ebtyre kufijve Peqini ka nj\u00eb sip\u00ebrfaqe prej 191 km\u00e7.Peqini \u00ebsht\u00eb nj\u00eb vendbanim i lasht\u00eb<br \/>\nilir n\u00eb bregun e djatht\u00eb t\u00eb Shkumbinit t\u00eb posht\u00ebm.
